Magic Knight Rayearth is an anime/manga series created by the popular manga-ka group, CLAMP. Sadly, the series is no longer being continued and has ended. The manga series contains a total of 6 volumes, and the anime series has a total of 49 TV episodes and 3 OVA episodes. Even though the series has ended, however, some of the characters can be found in other works by CLAMP, including their newer series, xxxHolic and Tsubasa Resorvoir Chronicle.

On a beautiful, sunny day, various schools in Japan are visiting Tokyo Tower on a field trip. All of a sudden there is a flash of bright light, and three young girls, each from a different school, are wisped away into the magical world known as Cephiro. Their names are Shidou Hikaru, Ryuuzaki Umi, and Hououji Fuu, and they are destined to become the legendary Magic Knights! Each girl is given a special power to help them on their journey - Hikaru receives fire, Umi receives water, and Fuu receives wind. Together, alongside a cheerful and bubbly creature named Mokona (who serves as a map and tour guide of Cephiro), they must travel through Cephiro in hopes of reviving the Rune-Gods Rayearth, Selece, and Windam, so that they may become true Magic Knights and save Cephiro.
